Cette série est le premier spin-off de la série Power et en est une suite directe.
Synopsis[]
Saison 1[]
La série commence 48 heures après l'épisode finale de Power.
"Power Book II: Ghost" reprend peu après les événements bouleversants de “Power” et suit Tariq St. Patrick (Michael Rainey Jr.) alors qu’il se débat entre sa nouvelle vie et son désir de se libérer de l’héritage paternel tout en faisant face à la pression croissante de sauver sa famille, dont sa mère Tasha (Naturi Naughton), accusée du meurtre commis par son fils. Sans parler de la rigueur académique que lui impose ses professeurs de l’Université Ivy League. Vraiment seul pour la première fois de sa vie, Tariq est obligé de partager son temps entre les cours et les petits boulots pour pouvoir payer Davis Maclean (Clifford “Method Man” Smith) , l’avocat de la défense avide de renommée, seul espoir pour Tasha de sortir de prison et d’échapper aux poursuites du nouveau procureur Cooper Saxe (Shane Johnson). Sans meilleures options, Tarik se tourne vers une activité familière – le trafic de drogue – et se frotte à une dangereuse famille dirigée d’une main de maître par Monet Stewart Tejada (Mary J. Blige). Tariq tente de trouver un équilibre entre son commerce illégal, ses notes, sa vie amoureuse et sa famille.
Saison 2[]
Tariq St. Patrick fuit toujours un héritage qui le hante. Contraint de tuer son professeur, Jabari Reynolds, Tariq s’éloigne de ce qu’il a toujours voulu protéger : sa famille. Avec Tasha sous protection des témoins, Tariq sait qu’il doit tout sacrifier pour sauver ce qu’il reste de sa famille. Incapable de le faire seul, il se tourne vers ceux qui détiennent le pouvoir et l’influence : Davis MacLean et son nouveau partenaire, Cooper Saxe, ainsi que Rashad Tate. Toutes ces options ont un prix, et les Tejada sont de retour aux affaires. Toutefois, avec deux meurtres impliquant Stansfield, Monet Tejada se demande si Tariq est le choix le plus judicieux pour sa famille alors qu’elle cherche à protéger par tous les moyens le possible futur de son neveu au sein de la NBA. Ses enfants, Dru et Diana, remettent en question ses actions alors qu’elle est de plus en plus distraite, surtout lorsque Monet va jusqu’à faire à nouveau confiance à Cane malgré ses actions contre la famille. Ainsi, Monet va se retrouver dans le lit de Mecca, un homme qui souhaite lui montrer un tout nouveau monde, quitte à détruire l’ancien. Monet doit alors s’appuyer sur Tariq, qui doit décider de qu’il veut vraiment et de ce qu’il est prêt à sacrifier pour l’obtenir.
