Cette série est le second spin-off de la série Power et un préquel de la série.

Synopsis[]
Situé dans le sud de Jamaïque, dans le Queens, en 1991, Power Book III: Raising Kanan est un préquel à la série originale Power. Ce drame familial tourne autour du passage à l'âge adulte de Kanan Stark, l'enfant de 15 ans de Raq Thomas, un distributeur de cocaïne avec un réseau de dealers à travers NYC. Raising Kanan explore les thèmes de l'identité, de la violence et de l'héritage, mais il plonge également dans la pathologie de la famille, découvrant que les personnes les plus proches de nous sont celles qui nous trahissent le plus. La première saison explore ces trahisons, secrets et mensonges et la manière dont ils s'enveniment, se métastasent et finissent par éclater.
