Breeze is the main antagonist of the Power universe, serving as one of the overarching antagonists of Power, and is set to feature in Power Book III: Raising Kanan as a major character. He was a former Drug Kingpin born in 1966 in the Jamaica neighborhood of Queens.

Biography[]

Breeze was shot in the back of the head by a young Ghost in his apartment alone, watching Jeopardy. The actual date of his death is unknown however, according to Kanan he stated that it was sometime around 7 o’clock at night. Breeze was believed to have been murdered at the age of 31

History[]

Post-Power[]

Before the events of Power started, he was a close associate of Tommy Egan, Ghost and Kanan Stark. It was revealed that at some point Breeze had control of the Southside and took Kanan under his wing in 1993 with Kanan later becoming his second in command before the events of Power. By the time of his death, Kanan had already recruited Tommy and Ghost to be his corner boys. A young ruthless Ghost set out a plan to eliminate Breeze by killing him. Ghost had big dreams for the future and attempted to persuade Breeze to expand the drug operation past the Southside. However, Breeze was not content with leaving the Southside and investing money into small businesses. Ghost seen him as an obstacle in the way. After Breeze's demise Kanan took Breeze's position as the Boss. Ghost would later set up Kanan in 2004 by sending him to prison for 10 years with his wife Tasha, aiding him in the act.

Legacy[]

In 2018, his former apartment was the same place was where Kanan attempted and failed to kill Tariq St. Patrick. Instead he decided to take the young boy under his wing after finding out he resented his father for abandoning the family. This is mentioned heavily throughout the series and has an impact over events that happened years prior before the show started. Ghost killed Breeze in his own apartment.

Breeze is heavily mentioned throughout the series. He was the Boss and partner of Kanan, he mentored Ghost, Tommy and Kanan in the streets. It's mentioned by Kanan when he told Tariq that Breeze was the one who gave Ghost is his street name, because he could sell the ability to disappear and no one could see him coming or going. He told Tariq that Breeze was not smart in a way that he had a routine, The decisions he made often put them all in harm's way, he was predictable. Breeze also enjoyed watching Jeopardy. Kanan also told Tariq that Ghost knew Breeze’s routine and snuck inside his apartment after school and killed him before he could react.

Ghost and Tariq’s perspective in the finales, gives an explanation to why Ghost killed Breeze. Ghost asks Tariq to come to his apartment to talk about Tariq turning himself in. Tariq shouts out at Ghost and becomes emotional, he asks his father to tell him the truth about Breeze. Tariq tells Ghost that he would consider turning himself in for Ray Ray if he knew the reason for his father’s betrayal of Breeze. Ghost explains that he gave Breeze one last chance, stating that what Kanan could not tell Tariq and asked him to change his mind as Ghost wanted to move further out of the drug game. Breeze refused, this forced Ghost to draw his hand. Tariq would later use this same tactic against Ghost in the series finale, before he pulls the trigger on his father, he explains he tried to give Ghost one last chance like he did Breeze.

Introduced in the beginning of the Raising Kanan series as a whole, He is known as Unique, recently thought to have been dead after the brutal attack from his Brother Ronnie Mathis, at the end of the last Episode in Season 3 reveals Unique to be Breeze with a subtle hint.
