Season 1

He initially refuses, but his job is threatened if he does not comply. At dinner with his family, his family mocks him by calling him Nancy, and his own younger brother offers him a job working for him. His brother ruthlessly insults his competence and insists that he'll surely lose the job, thereby embarrassing the family name. Later, he discusses Tasha's case with Ms. Sullivan the prosecution, and what he learns alarms him.

Saxe hunts down Tariq and demands to know what is going wrong with the case, since he had arranged for Tameika to represent Tasha and he himself orchestrated the original plea deal. With Tameika gone, it's too likely that evidence will emerge, and Tariq himself threatens to expose Saxe. In response, Saxe urges Tariq to make his mother tell the truth, so that he can fulfill his end of the bargain and bring Tasha home safe. However, when Tasha lied about ordering Tommy Egan to murder James St. Patrick, the DNC finally forced Saxe's hand and convinced him to charge Tasha under the Kingpin Statute.

Because he failed to capture Tommy, Saxe prepares to resign himself to being fired and go to a job his brother has waiting for him. However, he is surprised when Davis arrives in his office to offer him a job at his firm. After the latter promises a better pay, Saxe's sad mood changes to a happy mood.
