Season 6[]

Jacob Warner who had his sights set on congress is introduced as the new US Attorney after the DOJ lets Tameika go. Saxe enters Warner's office to try to introduce himself to him but Warner already knows who he is. Saxe tells him that he was partially responsible for Angela's death as he leaked information about Angela being a possible witness although she wasn't. Warner threatens to have Saxe arrested but gives him a chance when he mentions that he believes he can convict James, Tommy and all of their associates. Warner however tells Saxe that if he doesn't manage to pull this off then his career will be over. Later on, James is brought in for questioning and Warner is present along with Saxe and Donovan. James insists that he didn't kill Angela and that he doesn't know who did.

Sometime later, Warner tells Saxe that Donovan has been killed. He says that Donovan was caught in Jimenez Cartel crossfire at a safehouse along with Dre but Dre survived. Warner tells Saxe that Alicia Jimenez must be convicted and he needs to find out what happened.

In King's Gambit, he discusses Maria Suarez's murder with Saxe and Blanca Rodriguez. Saxe tells Warner that he had Dre acting as an undercover criminal informant and James visited Maria's apartment with Dre however James didn't kill her, instead offering her money to leave town. Warner mentions to Saxe that Lindsay Proctor also died from an overdose, then soon after he and Saxe visit Proctor to ask him about it. However what Jacob doesn't know is that Saxe placed an illegal recording device on Elisa-Marie's backpack which now included a recording of Proctor letting Lindsay die, and he took the device to later blackmail Proctor, which is why he wanted to visit Proctor in the first place.

Warner and Blanca Rodriguez later find out about this and Saxe gets fired, plus Warner threatens to put him behind bars. Blanca works with Saxe behind Warner's back, and Blanca manages to get LaKeisha Grant to testify against Tommy which she tells Warner. She also tells him that she has information about how Saxe pressured Dre into giving him information, which Warner looks happy about. After beginning to investigate into Terry Silver's murder, Warner discovers that Saxe was involved in planting Silver's cell phone at the hotel James was staying at. He also discovers that Blanca and Saxe were working together behind his back, and he says that Saxe's presence jeopardizes everything as he isn't law enforcement.

Warner later meets with John Mak to get information on Saxe to have an indictment filed against him for perjury and misconduct. Mak refuses to help but Warner tells him that he recalled Angela giving him a recommendation for the position in D.C., and would also charge him with conspiracy along with Saxe for the death of Tony Teresi. Mak tells Warner that Saxe was obsessed but never saw him break the law in front of him, Warner later talks with Paz Valdes apologizing for how Saxe botched the entire investigation and lets her know that they are committed to finding those responsible. Paz later returns to Warner's office to reveal that she has a piece of information connecting Angela to James' criminal enterprise and he warns Paz that if it bears any fruit, that Angela's pension, benefits and honors will go away and Paz will receive nothing. He goes with Paz to exhume Angela's body from the cemetery where they recover the phone Angela and Tasha used to communicate. They recover nothing but outgoing messages and Warner informs Paz that it does not look good, and does not get them closer to James. But Paz puts pressure on Warner to wire her up so she can get a confession on James which can move forward with R.I.C.O case.

Later on, Warner and Blanca later meet with Judge Tapper and he tells the judge about Silver's cell phone being found during a search of James' hotel. He knows this was planted but still wants James' to be arrested. After Tapper shuts down the warrant, Blanca returns to Warner's office to inform him that Andre Coleman was a witness to Silver's murder and he scolds her telling her that Coleman would say anything, and tells her to leave. Steven Ott from the Democratic Party committee visits Warner letting him know that they heard Angela's body was exhumed and that Warner signed the order. Ott informs Warner to back off of James St. Patrick and that he is property of the DNC and tells Warner to stop whatever he is doing. Warner visits Tapper again later that night informing him of new evidence on James from the wire, and Coleman being a federal witness.

Warner receives the call that he is sacked from the Department of Justice the morning after St. Patrick's death after failing to listen to Ott's advice about leaving James alone and Saxe gets his job back. Warner is unhappy to see Saxe at the U.S. Attorney's office and curses at him before leaving.
