Me marrying Noma has nothing to do with you. All right, you want to go to Stanford and build robots? Cool. But I want to be Bumpy Johnson. You know, Frank Lucas, Nicky Barnes. And being with Noma gets me that. | „

Synopsis[]
Official synopsis from
A union that should bring the Tejadas and Noma together, couldn't appear to be further apart. Tariq and Monet are sent on a seemingly simple mission. They find it to be much more than meets the eye.
Plot[]
The episode begins with Noma and Cane getting prepared for their wedding rehearsal, while the Tejada family sits around the table playing dominoes. Cane texts Monet to see if she’s coming to his wedding, much to her and Dru’s displeasure, while Monet’s sister tries to no avail to convince them that supporting him is important.
At Stansfield, the students are preparing to take an exam when Effie receives an email congratulating her for her acceptance into Stanford University’s co-term Engineering Program. Shortly after the exam begins, Diana leaves the classroom without ever starting it, to the confusion of Tariq who is sitting next to her.
Back at his dorm room, Tariq scolds Brayden for being in his bed with his shoes on, and for still being in the room after making plans to move in with his ex-girlfriend Elle. Brayden calls Tariq a ‘dick’ while Tariq replies that he’s being a simp, and dodged a bullet now that his relationship with Elle is over as she’s a distraction and they need to be more focused than ever.
Detective Carter calls Tariq, telling him there’s a rogue dealer operating out of an abandoned amusement park called Vicki’s on Staten Island and he needs Tariq to go check it out. Tariq says that the professionals should be able to handle it, but Carter tells him he needs to blend in, ordering him to go when it’s dark, go alone and keep the details of this a secret. Tariq reluctantly agrees.
Dru goes to collect Detective Carter’s money from the dealers he works with and pulls a gun on the jokesters who tell him that Carter is sending Tariq on a run to Vickie’s Amusement Park instead of him, and they were wondering why it wouldn’t be Dru given his loyalty to Carter.
Back in Cane’s apartment, Noma’s brother Chinedu questions why she’s getting married so soon after her ex-husband’s murder and why she needs government contracts in the U.S., vocalizing his confusion for his sister’s union with Cane. He says that she’s always had a thing for ‘the help’ just before Monet, Diana and Dru arrive.
Dinner gets tense as discussion about Cane’s ownership of the condo, the Tejada’s family bar in Queens, Noma’s business and Monet and Norma’s mutual connection with Dante “Mecca’ Spears come up. It’s obvious that the Tejada’s are trying to make the dinner as uncomfortable as possible, with Noma requesting Anya to help her with gathering plates and Chinedu to enjoy the views, ending the uneasy conversation. Cane and Monet are alone and Cane expresses that he wants support from his mother who is still in disbelief that he’s marrying Noma. Monet tells Cane he is a good son, who stepped up when his father Lorenzo got locked up and deserves more than being talked down to and Cane returns his appreciation for his mother. Cane is excited to become Noma’s partner but Monet reinforces her belief that Noma is untrustworthy and only using him to get what she wants.
