Seamus Bennigan is a police detective who appears as a recurring character in season 1 and minor character in Season 2 of Power Book IV: Force. He has a vendetta against Diamond Sampson because of something that happened to his sister.

Seamus' sister was a drug addict, who got her hands on a bad drug that was shipped out by CBI and suffered a bad reaction to the drugs and required hospitalization. As a result, he harbored a grudge against CBI leader Diamond, despite the latter trying to get the drugs off the streets after seeing its effects.
Being her brother, he supported his sister to get her treatment but his paycheck was barely enough to make ends meets. Seamus resorted to making deals with Victor Flynn, son of crime boss Walter Flynn in order to get extra money to support his sister.
In the Series[]
He first appears in "Firestarter", where he accosts Diamond in his new barbershop. He reveals his badge to let the latter know he was a cop. He doesn't reveal his history but makes veiled threats against him. It is later shown he is league with Victor Flynn.
He later harasses Diamond while he is jogging and has him enter his car. He brings up Diamond's past and reveals his grudge against stems from his sister being affected by his drugs. He makes it clear that he will ultimately get sent back to prison but is surprised when the latter reveals his knowledge of his actions with the Flynn's and will run his mouth off to the cops if he tries. Angry, he orders the gangster out of his car.
One of his coworkers reveal his knowledge Seamus being bribed by Victor and wants half of the cut to keep quiet or he'd report him. Knowing his sister depended on him for payment, Seamus agreed to pay but lacked the money needed, so he decided to rob Diamond and get the money. Once he got it, the crooked detective left the scene.
He returns in "The Devil's in the Details", where he again blackmails Diamond for money because of the expenses increasing. When Diamond tries to cancel the arrangement, he refuses and says if he doesn't comply then he will have his parole violated and him sent him back to prison. Diamond later gives him money, something witnessed by his friend Tommy Egan who questioned Diamond on this. At the end, Seamus came for his money in the basement of his shop and Diamond officially told him it ends for good and Tommy appears to back him up. Tommy introduced himself before he and Diamond offered a deal, Seamus works with them to get more money while relaying info the feds knew in exchange. He pondered on this before refusing because of what their drugs do and threatens them, until he is shot by Tommy's nephew D-Mack.
