Tommy's Back is the premiere episode of the 2nd season of Power Book IV: Force and the 11th episode overall in the series.

Synopsis[]

Tommy and Diamond hustle to keep CBI’s game ahead of Jenard’s new faction in the streets, while Tommy makes solo moves to avenge Liliana’s death. All the while, Tommy hasn’t forgotten his ultimate goal of taking over Chicago’s entire drug network.

Plot[]

The episode sets the stage for an explosive season, highlighting the intricate power struggles and personal dynamics that drive the characters' relentless pursuit of control in Chicago's dangerous underworld.

Tommy Egan returns to Chicago with renewed determination to expand his empire, navigating a fractured criminal landscape.

Tommy and Diamond Sampson solidify their partnership, controlling half of the former CBI territory. They work together to strengthen their position and fend off threats from rival factions.

Jenard Sampson, having split from CBI, establishes his new gang, Treason, controlling the other half of the territory. His aggressive tactics and ambitions create ongoing conflict with Diamond and Tommy.

Chewy, begins the episode with CBI, later flips to Treason, exacerbating tensions between the gangs. His betrayal culminates in a dramatic confrontation, ending with Tommy killing Chewy to send a clear message about loyalty and betrayal.

Following the fallout from last season's finale, Vic and his sister Claudia decide to permanently cut ties with their father, Walter Flynn. Walter desperately attempts to regain their trust to no avail. Additionally, Walter's debt with Ireland adds pressure and urgency to his actions, making his taks of rebuilding the Flynn organisation even more difficult without the help of his children.

JP Gibbs and his son D-Mac navigate their complex relationship while supporting Tommy’s endeavors. D-Mac is beginning to become restless as he is not involved in Tommy’s street operations.

Tommy comes face to face with Miguel Garcia, his ruthless connect as the new head of CBI. Miguel is an alpha-male with a violent streak, feared on the streets and the most powerful drug lord in Chicago.

US Attorney Stacy Marks intensifies her efforts to dismantle the drug operations in Chicago, focusing on the key players. Her task force decide to switch their focus towards Chicago's newest unknown player (Tommy Egan) as he's the lynchpin between all of Chicago's criminal organisations.

Kate Egan's return adds another layer of complexity to Tommy's life, bringing familial tensions and unresolved issues back to the forefront.

The episode ends with a tense cliffhanger as Tommy's bold moves provoke a fierce response from his enemies. The stage is set for an explosive season as Tommy navigates the treacherous world of Chicago's drug trade, determined to come out on top.
