Jamal Franklin is a minor character in the Power Universe, serving as a recurring character in Power Book IV: Force.
History[]
During Dead Reckoning, he is approached by Jamal Franklin who after confirming he is Diamond's parole's officer and relayed to him that Diamond's influence on his son Leon Franklin got him killed. He then revealed to the man that he's being played, as Diamond still runs with CBI. This set suspicions in the parole officer, who goes to see Diamond at his shop. Once there, he finds a drunken Diamond talking to his friend Tommy Egan about how this is who he is. Reeves sees Diamond holding several bags of drugs and is disappointed by Diamond's relapse and criticizes him for lying to him. He prepares to arrest him, before getting distracted by a protesting Tommy. However, an angry Diamond proceeds to use a shaving blade and slit Reeves' throat while refusing to go back to prison. After suffering from his wound for a while, Reeves then falls dead.
In No Loose Ends, Diamond and Tommy proceeded to dump his body, somewhere he couldn't be found. His coworkers questioned Diamond but the latter claims no knowledge and his brother Jenard Sampson gave him an alibi. Diamond was later released from parole, before setting out to kidnap Jamal Franklin for setting Reeves on him before drowning him.
