Victor Garber is a Canadian actor. He portrays Simon Stern on the Starz original crime drama Power and Power Book II: Ghost.

Biography

Garber was born on March 16, 1949, in London, Ontario, Canada, to Joseph Garber, who died 1995, and Bessie Hope Wolf, who died 2005 and was an actress, singer, and the host of At Home with Hope Garber. Garber is of Russian-Jewish descent and has two siblings, a brother named Nathan and a sister named Alisa. Garber began acting when he was nine years old and studied at the University of Toronto's Hart House at 16. He was enrolled in the children's program of the Grand Theatre and was accepted at a six-week summer theatre training program at the University of Toronto taught by Robert Gill.

Garber made his television debut in 1973 in the Film Godspell as Jesus. He's best known for his roles in I Had Three Wives, The Days and Nights of Molly Dodd, E.N.G., Liberty! The American Revolution, Alias, Charlie's Angels , and The Orville. Most recently, he's known for his role as Dr. Martin Stein in the CW's Arrowverse series The Flash and DC's Legends of Tomorrow.

Along with acting, Garber also pursued a music career. In 1967, after working as a solo folk singer, he formed a folk group called The Sugar Shoppe with Peter Mann, Laurie Hood and Lee Harris. The band had moderate success on the Canadian Top 40 with a version of Bobby Gimby's song "Canada."
